"Put It In Your Pocket Lillian"
By, Lillian Banks
My momma Hattie May Banks, well, she was a southern woman born, bred and raised in Mississippi. In fact, she never once in her whole life stepped outside the magnolia state. Momma had one of those round full faces that always bore a warm and cheerful smile. She was a kindly soul who made everyone she encountered feel welcome with her true southern hospitality. She greeted everyone with a tip of her head, a cherubic grin an enthusiastic wave, and a “Howdy Y’all;” followed by an invite onto to the porch for lemonade.

Making A Dream Come True
A Review of Verdi's Rigoletto
By, Marion J. Flores
My “Bucket List” is a long list, it includes many travel destinations, living long enough to see my children get married and have children of their own, seeing the Eifel Tower, and the River Nile. Going to the opera had been something that was on my “Bucket List,” ever since I can remember. For those of you who don’t know what a “Bucket List” is, it is a list of things, dreams, or aspirations that you hope to do, or accomplish before you die.

Low Cost Or No Cost Ideas For Summer Entertainment
By, Marion J. Flores
Summer is traditionally a time for family vacations and fun outings. Basically, its party time for the kids. The events and excursions of your child’s summer are a hot topic of discussion when they return to school in the fall. In fact, almost every school year, the first day back, the teachers either have them discuss or write about what they did or their summer vacations. |
